I love Coincidences!
After buying a bunch of pinball backglasses that I wasn’t sure I would ever use I was thrilled to find a Gottlieb Baseball machine with a bad backglass advertised locally for a good price. The same guy also had a Bally Trail Drive machine for sale. I hadn’t heard of that game but when I looked it up on IPDB and saw the backglass animation I became really interested. I called the guy and made arrangements to pick up the machines the following morning (at 7:00AM!). I hate getting up early but it was worth it for these two. Someone else had arranged to look at the machines the previous day and didn’t show. Their loss was my gain!
Here we see the backglass in terrible condition. Fortunately I have a nice one that I bought only a few weeks prior that I have already sealed with triple thick.

The playfield on the Baseball isn’t too bad. It’s not great either but it’s definitely something that I can work with. My initial thought was that I would touch-up and clear coat it but it will likely be quite some time before I’m actually able to restore it so I’m sure I will change my mind a dozen times before even pulling the playfield.

The Trail Drive is in great condition overall. I’m really happy with it. There is some wear to be dealt with but it should be a relatively straight forward restoration.

I love the backglass on this game. Fortunately it’s in decent condition. There is some flaking but it’s not terribly obvious.

This actually looks a lot deeper in person. The backglass animation is so cool! I was able to play the game when I bought it and the animation works perfectly.

Later that same day I picked up a Seven Up pinball that I had planned to sell/trade to a friend who had one in need of a backglass. It turns out that he sold the machine so I’ll put this one into storage for a rainy day. I do have some Williams EMs to restore so I’m sure I can use the nice coin door and some other parts.

The backglass is pretty nice.
